Silas is tall and lean with brown hair and striking blue eyes. He usually dresses in jeans and a tee shirt, and maybe he'll throw on a button up shirt before heading into town.
He carries himself confidently, always with his eyes up towards the world. Although much of the time he looks like he is brooding, it's just the set of his face, He has a bad habit of running his fingers through his hair to the point that it drives some people up a wall.
Likes: being lycan, women, sex, competition, hunting, running, freedom,
Dislikes: coming in second place, thinking about his sister mating, his brother being right, perfume, strong spices, meat that is cooked all the way through, being told no, being wrong
Strengths: strong runner, high self-esteem,
Weaknesses: arrogant, hot-headed, stubborn, prideful,
Fears: his brother getting to his mate before he does (irrational), his sister growing up (gonna happen anyways), people forgetting about him,
Goals: to beat his brother at anything, to find the girl who smells like honey,
Secrets: he would leave the pack before he would give up his freedom or his mate, his brother saved his life in WWI,
Silas comes across as an arrogant jerk sometimes, but most of the time he is funny and even charming. He's a great friend and older brother, but he is hot-headed and prideful to a fault. He acts as if he could be an alpha, but he hates the idea of responsibility. Silas wants to do what he wants when he wants to.
Sometime though, he wishes that he could be more like WESTBROOK [CT], who he thinks has it all together. He is constantly looking for validation from his older brother, but he goes about it all of the wrong ways. Ever since they went to war together and WESTBROOK [CT] saved Silas' life, Silas has been trying to prove to him he's worth it. Unfortunately he tries to prove it by stealing WESTBROOK [CT]'s girlfriends and picking fights.
Even though he has those insecurities though, the world would never know. Silas isn't the type to admit that he is wrong, ever. Even when he knows that he was wrong, there's no way that you'll ever get it out of him.
He does have a soft spot for his little sister though. If there was ever anyone who could get to Silas it's WESTBROOK [KS]. He was grown when she was born, and to this day she is his favorite hunting companion and one of his closest friends. She brings out his protective side and she can read him like a book. Around her he tends to drop it all and just be himself.
Virgina, 1785, The Westbrook Lycans were happily expecting their second child, for nearly two decades they had lived with peace with the people of Richmond. Silas' father Henry worked as a blacksmith, and his brother WESTBROOK [CT] worked along side him as his assistant and younger brother. Silas' childhood years were filled with love, both from his parents and his pack.
1865, The civil war overwhelmed the nation, and the pack was as involved as anyone else. Silas' father and brother went off to fight, more for the fight than for the cause, but Silas' mother refused to let him go. As far as she was concerned he was still just a pup.
In April, Richmond was burned and Silas fled with his mother to the countryside. The pack had been separated in the chaos, and they hadn't managed to find everyone. Their Alpha wasn't with their group, and then more than half of them went after them. Silas and his mother stayed where they were, waiting for his father and WESTBROOK [CT] to return. After a month or so, they did return home, along with a few others from the pack. They decided after that to head west, to a town they had heard was a haven for their kind.
1866, It was easy to settle in to their new home, and Silas found that he liked Mercy. He made friends easily with his new pack, and decided that the hunting was better out here anyways. His father and brother took up work again as blacksmiths, and for a while Silas worked with them as well. In the end, he decided it was boring and spent most of his time hunting. Mercy was every bit the haven they had hoped it would be.
1917, When word of World War I reached Mercy, Silas was one of the first to pack up his things. His mother hated the idea of losing him, but this time there was no way that she could stop him from going. Henry stayed behind this time, and the two Westbrook boys headed off to war.
They were sent to France, and there was more than once where he thought it was all over. Of course, military records say the Silas Westbrook died in combat. On more than one occasion, WESTBROOK [CT] saved him from really dying and Silas will never forgive him for that. At the end of the war he came home, even more sure of himself than before, and now with a resentment towards his brother.
1918, Little changed in Mercy while the boys were away at war, but the younger Lycans all wanted to know about how amazing it was to go to war. While most who went would tell some here and there, Silas loved to be the center of attention while he told of his heroic exploits. He left out the parts were WESTBROOK [CT] had saved his skin, and most of the time WESTBROOK [CT] never bothered to correct him.
1935, Silas' mother was pregnant again and everyone was overjoyed. Silas wasn't sure that he liked the idea of having another brother. One was annoying enough. For a while, Silas even thought about leaving Mercy and running away. By the time he finally got up the nerve though, it was too late and he had a new baby sister. WESTBROOK [KS].
To no one's surprise but his own, Silas found that he liked having a little sister. He had fun spoiling her and helping her get into trouble. When she was four he even convinced her to cut her own hair. He took her out on playful hunting expeditions, and got upset when WESTBROOK [CT] tried to tell him she was just a pup. The two of them were inseparable until she was seven and Silas decided to go off to be a hero again.
1942, The world was at it again. Silas enlisted under the name of Alexander West and asked to go to France again. This time he was without WESTBROOK [CT], and he somehow managed to make it out alive. He was one of the lucky ones. Again he returned home, determined to rub it in his older brother's face. Of course WESTBROOK [CT] was just happy to have his stupid pup brother home alive, and Silas hated that.
1945, Silas returned home to find that this time things had changed. His father had died while he was away, and WESTBROOK [CT] was moving up in the pack. It was a major blow to Silas' world that suddenly the man was not in it. Because it had been months since the death, no one wanted to talk to him about it. Silas would have brooded about it for months if it weren't for WESTBROOK [KS] badgering him to take her out hunting all of the time.
since, Slowly, life settled into a pattern for Silas. He had a couple of flings, but didn't find his mate. It always seems like he and WESTBROOK [CT] are interested in the same girls, and he doesn't even realize he does it because he feels the need to make his brother mad.
Silas has mostly come to terms with living with the pack, but he's still restless. There is a scent on the wind that is driving him mad and his brother is just as annoying as ever. Silas feels like his life is missing something, and he's trying his best to keep his mind off of it.
Your Name: nic.
Age: twenty one years.
How Did you Find us: the wonderful amazing jeanna.
A little bit about you: i'm from anchorage alaska and i've been roleplaying for six years. i get busy, so feel free to harass me about posts i owe you! There were still people arriving. Ryder could hardly believe it. He glanced at the path to the road and saw some college guy bothering a couple of girls. Twins it looked like. Being a twin himself, Ryder had none of the fascination that other guys had about twins, but these two were both smoking hot. Identical, he figured. At least from this distance they looked like they were.
People said that he and Thalia looked a lot alike. He pushed the thought away before he had any time to dwell on it. There was no point anymore. It had been five years, and she obviously didn't want him to find her. At least, that's what Ryder kept on telling himself.
Unconciously, Ryder slid his hand into his back pocket, letting it rest on the little silver case that always sat there. The guy walked away from the twins, looking disapointed that neither had given him the time of day. Ryder almost laughed.
The two came up towards the bonfire and grabbed their own drinks. Ryder couldn't help hearing the exchange as yet another guy offered to help them with their drinks. He wondered where the fascination with twins came from. It was weird. Taking a swig from his bottle, Ryder walked over to them with a disarming smile.
"Well, you two are breaking a lot of hearts tonight, huh?" The way he said it didn't let on that he was interested as well, but sounded more like idle conversation. "I'm Ryder, by the way," he added, almost as if it might have been an afterthought.
Even up close they looked pretty much identical. He'd always wondered if things would have been different if he and Thalia had been identical. People said that identical twins could read each other's minds and shit like that. Ryder wasn't sure he believed that, but when they were little he'd been able to finish Thalia's sentences most of the time. It had freaked their mother out a little bit.
